So yesterday, Jeremy’s plans to help Claire begin the creation of her very 1st pine car (for the Awana derby of course) were foiled. The workshop was cancelled. Bummer. He brought a disappointed little whittler home to think of something.
Little did he know that when we all decided to head out to the base, he would save the day. As we passed the Theater, we discovered we were 30 minutes from a special showing of Horton Hears a Who. What could be better…a Daddy date with his girls while I peacefully shop alone in the commissary? Heaven on earth really. 
2 hours later, I pick up my handsome 3 as they are walking toward me on the road. Eliza is singing Rihanna’s “Umbrella” (thank you Daddy) and sacheing along to the amusement of passersby. Claire is full of details and slurping down soda…a treat reserved for outings. So, mission accomplished and we are driving home with some happy, overly tired girls.
Alas, bliss can not last forever, so naturally arguing over holding a grocery bag ensues and the insults & extreme comments begin flying. (Never! It’s Over! You are not going to be my sister!) And then, Jeremy and I began secretly giggling from the front seat as Eliza hurls her final insult at Claire with “Well, you win and I lose, Qwaire!!!” So there. I think she thought she had won something. Claire heard her correctly though and started to giggle. Eliza was pleased that she was perceived as funny and began giggling as well. And best of all, the arguing was forgotten.
